We strive to create an environment so our customers and our team can make connections and share life's incredible journey together. By living our vision, we will earn a reputation for making great beer and creating a fun place where one can sit, relax, and make positive connections with others. We will achieve this through authentic awesome customer service and by producing the highest quality beer and pub experience possible. By living our vision, our efforts will be rewarding for both our customers and ourselves.

Where to stay
Some of our favorite places to stay are the Chewuch Inn, River’s Edge Resort, Hotel Rio Vista, and Spring Creek Ranch … all within walking distance to the pub.   Central Reservations can also help to find you the perfect place.  The KOA Campground is right on the river a couple miles down the highway. The Pine Near RV Park also has space for RVs and tent camping and is within walking distance to the pub!

What to do:
Come to the Old Schoolhouse, of course!!  Aside from that …. Lots of winter fun!  The Methow Valley is the largest cross-country ski area in North America with over 120 miles of groomed trails. Check out the Methow Valley Sport Trail Association (MVSTA) website for details. The Loup Loup Ski Area is minutes away and has 22 km of grommed and track set ski trails, mostly intermediate and advanced, with a vertical rise of over 1000 ft. The Winthrop Ice & Sports Rink is one of the top 5 outdoor rinks on the West Coast and is within walking distance to the pub! The Methow Valley Snowmobile Association is also very popular and busy with winter activities.

Our brewer, Blaze, who is also a professional fly-fishing guide with North Cascades Fly Fishing (operating out of Sun Mountain Lodge) spends many a day on the beautiful Methow River.  Methow Valley Arts and the MERC Playhouse offer lots of great shows and events at various locations around the valley. The Winthrop Chamber has a good list of seasonal activities including street fairs, rodeos, races, concerts, and holiday celebrations. Methow.Net also offers good connections to local recreation.

Where to go:
For the most delicious baked goods, Rockinghorse Bakery on the boardwalk in Winthrop is the place to go.  Backcountry Coffee Roasters has their roasting facility and a retail shop up at Horizon Flats in Winthrop. Lost River Winery makes incredible award-winning wines, which we also serve at the pub! They have a tasting room in Winthrop just past the Barn on Hwy 20.   And for an amazing gourmet chocolate selection, Winthrop Motors is the secret spot.  The Winthrop Gallery showcases our talented local artists.  Local gift shops like Aspen Grove, The Habitat, The Retro Pony, and the Courtyard Quail are fun for shopping. The Trails End Bookstore has a broad selection and showcases Northwest authors. Again, the Winthrop Chamber site has good ideas too.
